Humbled

We are having another beautiful day here and had the opportunity to take another walk on trails across the street.  We went to church this morning and it was Go Guatemala which was about the team that went to Guatemala to build homes.  They shared pictures and stories and it was very humbling know that for such a small amount of money ($450 to build a house) to provide such a need.  The team said that they were very appreciative of the homes that they were building which by our standards would be horrible.  They were 12'x12' with dirt floor, tin roof and wood siding.  They had one door and one window.

I know that I there are many people struggling here in the United States but to know that there are people that are really out there trying to survive is humbling.  This just makes me realize how much we take for granted and grateful I am for what I do have.

We have entered the Lent season and I challenge everyone to take a moment a think of these people who you so little but so grateful for what they do have and look at ourselves and think of one thing that you could give up for a week.  It could be texting, meat, sweets, TV or anything that is would be a challenge to you and take that time to reflect on your life and how blessed you really are.

God Bless
