Waterrock Knob

Today we we on a road trip to Waterrock Knob then to Balsam Mountain for a picnic then down the way road from Balsam to Cherokee. We also stopped at Mingo Falls.

The kids were helping make stuffed shells. They are getting to really interested in cooking which is neat to watch. The other week Genavieve cooked and I came inside and she was in the kitchen by her self forming falafel sliders by herself.

Connor lost tooth & Paddle Boarding

We went paddle boarding yesterday at the finger lake. The Worley's let us use ther paddle boards and the kids had a blast.

While boarding Connor hit his fused tooth the paddle and it came out. Some how he had it in his hand. It was already loose. a fused tooth is two teeth fused together so he has an extra baby tooth.

Anyway here is his new smile.

Job interview and fun

Yesterday we went went to Columbia for an interview that I had with Alliance Consulting which went really well. Kim and the kids went to the Capital building while was at the interview then we went to the Zoo. The trip was great and looks promising.for a job in Asheville or Greenville.

Finished plumbing and headed to Columbia, SC

Finished the plumbing at the cabin today. We ran all new plumbing and installed a new hot water heater. Now all we have to do is insulate the floor under the cabin and put up the plywood to re-seal it.

Now we are in Columbia, SC for an interview that I have tomorrow. The job would be in either Charlotte or Greenville with a possible future office in Asheville which would be awesome.

Camping

We went camping at Deep Creek Campground just outside Bryson City in the National Park. We had a great couple of days. First night we had rain so we ended up eating dinner at 3:30pm and the cookies for dessert in tent.

Next day was beautiful so we got some tubing in on the creek. The kids managed to carry their tubes up the path four times.

Graveyard Fields

We took the kids to the Graveyard fields which are on the Blue Ridge Parkway between Waynesville and Asheville. The hike is easy and it is great fun for the kids. Below the lower falls you can swim in a deep pool if you want.













Also went to Mount Pisgah. Beautiful place to stay.

Dolphin Tale Day

Today for we went to see Winter! This was part of the kids birthday presents so we went today. They had a good time. Tomorrow we leave in the morning to head back home. We had a good time in Florida but it went to fast.

Dad breaks foot

Well we are down in FL visiting and Dad went golfing and came home and had to get the pollen off the top of his truck. So in his golf shoes he was standing on door sill to reach the top and slipped and broke his foot.

We can't take him anywhere. Pretty soon we will have to keep him away from all sharp objects!

Happy BDay Genavieve

Today is Genavieve's birthday. We have a tradition in our house that on your birthday you get to pick the meals for the day. She has picked chocolate chip pancakes, English muffin pizzas, fondue and of course cake. She said she wanted a S'more cake and here it is. Kim is so creative. She will post it on her Blog

Positive Trip to Charlotte

Well, last week I made a trip over to Charlotte to meet with a couple of engineering firms.  I finally just said that I was going to start calling firms and letting them know that I was coming over and would like to setup a meeting with them.  I had two meetings and they both went well.  One of them I think that I have good chance at getting.

While there I also received a call from the City of Gastonia which is near Charlotte for a phone interview on Monday.  Things are looking up and glad that there are some great opportunities.  I made some really good contacts and think that something good is going to come out off it all.

Day in Asheville

We went to Asheville today to get me some new dress clothes. Really a suit for some meeting/ interviews that I have next week in Charlotte. I am hoping to get a couple more scheduled on Monday.

After the joy of shopping we went to the Mellow Mushroom. It's a beautiful day.

Easter

We had a really good Easter. First , my brother-in-law and his family came up for a couple of days. We went to Cataloochee and then an Easter egg hunt at the cabin.

Sunday we spent the day at church with the service and then the church picnic afterwords. Then Kim made us a really nice dinner.

Easter Egg Dying

We dyed Easter eggs and this year we used natural dyes. Turmeric, beets, blueberries, and raspberries. It worked really well. Kim will post it on here blog later as well.

Yesterday

It was another beautiful day. I went to church early to run sound. Then we came home and finished the kitchen cabinets. After that Connor and I were sword fighting outside. If you got hit on then leg than you had to hop on one. If you got both legs you had to sit down. I think I was worn out.

Work Saturday

Grandma Suzy painted the kitchen cabinets today. Poppy and myself went to the church today for work day. The kids did some Easter projects. One was nests made from paper grocery bags.
